Entry-Level Electrician

Key Responsibilities:
The primary duty of the Maintenance Electrician is to ensure the upkeep, repair, and enhancement of all packaging and processing machinery and systems, including auxiliary equipment, while adhering to safety and efficiency standards.

Minimizing equipment failures is crucial. The electrician will proactively engage in troubleshooting methodologies for all machinery, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems. Responsibilities include preparing work orders through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and conducting Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all equipment.

Team Collaboration:
This role involves reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager and providing daily updates on tasks. The electrician will be an integral part of the maintenance team, participating in team initiatives and fostering effective communication among team members.

As a team member, the electrician will contribute to the development and execution of team strategies, ensuring alignment on key issues such as direction, annual objectives, and policy modifications.

Operational Standards:
The electrician is expected to be knowledgeable about established operational systems (e.g., quality, security, company policies) and understand the importance of maintaining awareness of these systems and their impact on overall operations.

Physical Requirements:
While fulfilling job duties, the employee will frequently sit, stand, and walk. Tasks include entering and retrieving information from a computer and visually verifying details, often in small print. The role requires the ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and elevated or confined spaces.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Steel-toed shoes, ear protection, hair nets, hard hats, and other PPE as required.

Technical Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have 2-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance electrical work, with a solid understanding of Electrical Code and Safety standards, including NFPA 70E.

Industry Background:
Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.

Educational Requirements:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
