JOB SUMMARY

A Maintenance Technician oversees performing preventative and routine maintenance on all manufacturing and support related equipment. They are responsible for troubleshooting equipment, sourcing parts, and coordinating repairs with vendors when needed. They must have a focus on safety, and urgency while supporting the manufacturing operations.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Replace electric motors, CNC spindles, ball screws and ways, mechanical assemblies, belts, bearings, and worn components on production equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Trouble shoot equipment malfunctions
  • General fabrication skill
  • Replace thermal couples and insulation in kilns
  • Maintain waste-water filtration pumps and filters
  • Maintain records in maintenance software
  • Work with vendors to order spare parts and repair equipment


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated strong mechanical skills
  • Basic understanding of machine maintenance and repair
  • Basic blueprint reading
  • Understanding of safety systems, LOTO, confined entry, rigging, and chemical safety
  • Proficient in use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to utilize digital measuring equipment
  • Basic knowledge of using computers
  • Understanding preventative maintenance programs and computer based systems
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team or individually
  • Ability to follow written instructions
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Experience with CNC machining a plus
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, carpentry, machining and/or welding skills a plus


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Able to lift, carry, push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Able to stand and or walk for extended periods of time


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 - 5 years experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Technical school training or certification a plus
  • Wastewater Operator Certification or experience a plus
