Tomarco Contractor Specialties, dba ISAT Total Support, designs, manufactures, and distributes non-structural engineering and design systems for commercial construction applications. Founded in 1977, Tomarco/ISAT Total Support has a 46-year history of continuous growth and prides itself on being the global leader in the development and sale of innovative engineering fastening systems and engineering solutions. Our professional staff of salespeople, operations, manufacturing, and professional Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural Engineers has been involved from concept to completion in many of the largest projects in the United States and internationally, including hospitals, convention centers, sports venues, data centers, office building, manufacturing, and schools.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating drawings of building plans and structures using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Reviewing blueprints and drawings to ensure they are accurate and complete.
  • Performing calculations to determine the number of materials needed for a job.
  • Ensuring that all safety procedures are followed during construction to prevent injury or damage to property.
  • Communicating with contractors, architects, engineers, or other members of the construction team to discuss project details.
  • Coordinating with other team members to schedule deliveries of materials and coordinate construction activities.
  • Maintaining records of costs, labor hours, and other data related to projects.
  • Installing steel members such as joists, beams, columns, girders, and stairs using welding equipment
  • Determining the type of structural steel needed for a project based on design plans and building codes.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in engineering, architecture, drafting or related field preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience in steel detailing, including experience with 3D modeling software such as Advance Steel, Tekla, SDS2 and Revit
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication techniques, welding procedures, installation processes and industry code standards such as AISC and AWS. Strong math skills and ability to calculate material quantities and dimensions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Reliable transportation and valid government issued ID.
