Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Location: Dixon, IL

Industry: Manufacturing (mechanical assembly)

Status of Hire: direct placement; permanent

Pay: $55k-$65k + bonus potential


Summary: The Product Engineering Specialist (Testing and Approvals) will coordinate and oversee testing of products for acceptance per the quality codes or as directed by Product Engineering or Product Managers.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule internal and external product testing
  • Oversee all aspects of product testing
  • Assist lab technician as needed
  • Check test reports
  • Create test related drawings
  • Submit drawings and related documents to governing bodies for approval
  • Create Engineering Change Documents (ECN’s)
  • Provide technical support to Customers and Tech Team
  • Participate in monthly quality testing meetings


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An associate’s degree (AS) in Engineering Technology or related on the job experience is required
  • Work experience required in a construction, metal forming, manufacturing, or assembly environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and has knowledge of 2D drafting skills/software, preferably Solid Edge
  • Good understanding of product quality test standards and other related standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of ISO 17025 (Lab Accreditation)
  • Strong team player
