We have a 6-month contract to hire position open for a Windows Systems Admin. The position is 100% on-site in Roseville, CA.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Windows Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position with a strong possibility of transitioning to a full-time role based on performance.

Position Summary: As a Windows Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our Windows-based systems. You will work closely with our IT team to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure by providing hands-on support, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices in system maintenance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, SCCM, DNS.
  • Assist in managing storage solutions, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Support virtualization technologies, specifically HyperV, to ensure high availability and performance of virtualized systems.
  • Implement and monitor system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute the deployment of new applications and system updates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, providing timely and accurate support to end-users.
  • Document IT procedures, configurations, and inventory to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base
  1. Ticket queue management and escalation assistance.
  2. Provide support for tickets that have been escalated by the Service Desk.
  3. Daily morning checks for system status and issues.
  4. File management using command line tools.
  5. Build small Windows servers for remote locations.
  6. Coordinate with other teams for replace and ship hardware to remote locations.
  7. Assist team members manage Active Directory objects.
  8. Troubleshoot issues and update license servers.
  9. Update servers that are missing critical Microsoft security updates.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Windows administration and support.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure, SCCM, and
  • Knowledge of storage solutions, backup strategies, and Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with DNS and network protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
