Job Description:

  • We are seeking a skilled and motivated Python Developer to join our Global Research and Analytics team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Python programming and its frameworks, along with experience in developing, testing, and deploying applications.
  • You will work closely with our business team to design and implement maintainable software solutions that meet our business needs.

Keys to the position:

  • 10+ years of development experience with at least 4 years working with Python
  • Developer that writes high quality code and places an emphasis on this as a best practice
  • Experience working with relational databases - MySQL is the preference
  • Ability to work independently as this a time sensitive project - 3 months
  • Familiarity with financial terms is needed for this role
  • Preference is to work in Boston but remote is fine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable and efficient Python applications.
  • Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and design software solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Contribute to the improvement of development processes and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Python Developer
  • Strong proficiency in Python and its frameworks (e.g., pandas, Flask, FastAPI).
  • Experience with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL is a +) and experience with ORM libraries (e.g., SQLAlchemy).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing financial calculations and applications
  • Experience with AWS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with React is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps practices for python applications.
