Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse I is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care with a focus on the unique needs of surgical patients, including those undergoing bariatric and women's health procedures. This role involves continuous assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions throughout the assigned shift.
The successful candidate will provide care to pediatric patients, from birth to eighteen years, ensuring that services are tailored to the developmental and functional age of each individual. Adherence to established Standards of Nursing Practice is essential, particularly in the management of supplies and equipment under the supervision of a Charge Nurse.
This position plays a vital role in supporting the mission of CHRISTUS Health, emphasizing the importance of treating all patients, including those undergoing bariatric surgery, with dignity and compassion. The associate is expected to embody the organization's Core Values and contribute to the strategic objectives outlined in the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
Qualifications:
- Preferred one year of recent nursing experience.
- Valid Louisiana RN License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
