Heavy, a leading sports news and information website, is expanding its NHL coverage.
We're looking to partner with hard-charging, entrepreneurial freelance contributors to write about the most exciting storylines around the NHL and its biggest stars.
Compatible contributors should be able to demonstrate:
- A passion for and deep understanding of the NHL and its Tier 1 teams
- Proven ability to vet, verify and confirm information
- Ability to produce clean and polished copy
- A track record of pro/college sports coverage (hockey preferred)
- Ability and desire to react rapidly to on-and-off-ice breaking news
- Strong multi-tasking and communication skills
- Ability to quickly navigate social media to spot news and find additional information after a story breaks
Work autonomously and remotely. Heavy's editors are available for support but do not make assignments.
Compensation includes a monthly $500 retainer and scales with performance.
