Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable SpecialistCompensation: $18/hrShift/Working Hours: Monday Friday and the hours can be your choice of 7:30am 3:30pm, 8am 4pm, or 9am 5pmAbout the Role: PrideStaff is partnering with a Fiscal Department to find a Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage behavioral health billing operations and related accounting functions. This role is essential to the organization's revenue cycle, encompassing insurance claims processing, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, reconciliations, and audit support. We seek a detail-oriented individual who can collaborate effectively with clinical and finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.Temporary with the option for Temp-to-Hire if you are the right long-term fitWhat You Will Be DoingManage the full cycle of mental health insurance claims, including review, submission, and follow-up, ensuring timely reimbursement in accordance with payer requirements.Accurately post daily cash receipts in Echo and MIP, which includes mental health payments, HRA payments, and daily bank deposits.Provide dedicated Echo system billing support, including the setup and transmission of 837 electronic claims files and modifying Crystal Reports as needed.Maintain and apply a comprehensive understanding of contractual billing requirements for MCO contracts, DSS financial agreements, payer rules, CPT/diagnostic coding, and billing deadlines.Perform accurate reconciliation of assigned accounts, including SSI, student accounts, inventory, and bank accounts.Prepare and review Weekly Mental Health Aged Receivables reports and proactively follow up on all delinquent accounts over 45 days.What You Will BringExperience: Experience in insurance billing and accounting is required.Education: A minimum of a high school diploma; a degree or equivalent experience in accounting, billing, or a related field is preferred.Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, insurance claims submissions and reimbursement methods, and proficiency in Word and Excel.Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with CPT codes and DSMIV or ICD9 codes is helpful.Core Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with a proactive and self-directed approach to follow-up, and effective communication ability.Cultural Competence: A commitment to demonstrating competence and responsiveness to cultural differences within both client and employee populations.What Sets This Opportunity Apart (The Perks)Paid Weekly: Get your money every weekNon-profit organization with an excellent reputation & culture.
