Job Posting: Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Lead – Insignia International

Location: Denver Tech Center (Greenwood Village, CO), in office (cannot be remote)

Compensation: $90k-140k base salary plus discretional performance-based bonus[RD1]

As a growing company dedicated to general excellence and being the best in our industry, we are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Lead. This person will report directly to the Head of Procurement and Logistics and will have ample opportunity to grow into a broader role and progress into more senior positions.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, results oriented, effective project manager, able to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities. The role is responsible for driving sourcing and supply chain strategy for $50MM-$100MM of Opex and Capex in spend across direct and indirect categories (e.g., raw ingredients, packaging, utilities, freight). This role is hands-on and will also manage a team of specialists and managers. The geographic scope of work is global as our brands and operating facilities operate throughout North America. Primary responsibilities and challenges include building a strategic sourcing team that works closely with inventory management and tactical sourcing teams. The role will require development of robust category strategies to meet business requirements, partnering with stakeholders, optimizing the distribution network, partnering, and collaborating with co-packers on sourcing initiatives, as well as internal collaboration with functions such as R&D, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance and others. Key to success will be to build trust with stakeholders and to think outside the box to develop efficient sourcing and procurement operations, as well as to develop and deliver robust risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities for the Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Lead include:

1. Sourcing:
2. Leads the sourcing function for Insignia-related raw materials and indirect spend for a relevant annual spend across multiple manufacturing plants and various support operations. Develop and maintain annual plans of cost, quality, and service improvements.
3. Serve as key member of the Insignia’s commodity sourcing team, assists the team with developing, implementing, communicating, and continuously improving Insignia’s sourcing strategy.
4. Be responsible for the creation, deployment, and continuous improvement of commodity strategies for assigned spend. Specific expertise in wheat, edible oils, packaging substrates and similar commodities is highly desired. Create simple and clear cost-out summaries for various scenarios and on-going purchases to show Leadership results of strategy and priorities.
5. Effectively create and manage the RFI and RFQ process to identify opportunities.
6. Maintain and develop an approved supplier list including approved supplier list by part showing good, better, best options.
7. Travel to source of supply locations to build relationships, assess quality, and compliance. Travel to remote locations on occasion.
8. Partner with the team to ensure that defined best practices & designated tools and procedures are comprehensively deployed across the region and that sourcing projects are flawlessly executed.
9. Cost Innovation and Risk Management:
10. Develop and execute cost innovation and risk management strategies to provide value. Manage inflation mitigation and supply chain risks.
11. Implement gold-standard contracts across strategic supplier base. Negotiate strategic supplier contracts, develop innovative pricing models and agreements to deliver value to brands.
12. Effectively communicate plans and impacts to leadership through the development of succinct business cases. 
13. Cross Functional Liaison:
14. Act as a liaison between the manufacturing sites within the businesses and the Sourcing organization, ensuring that the sourcing and manufacturing strategies are mutually aligned and supportive.
15. Liaise with key stakeholders in various business segments and others as determined to coordinate business requirements and ensure a stable supply chain while delivering optimum value. Active participation in a cross-functional material competency team to ensure material is qualified and new products and suppliers are developed.
16. Accountable to partner with the commodity management team to deliver an optimal balance between global leverage and regional flexibility.
17. Owns all supplier performance for assigned suppliers, including compliance to contracts. Partners with manufacturing to ensure that supplier performance is an enabler toward manufacturing excellence and end customer satisfaction.

19. Assists in development of top talent for Insignia’s sourcing team, ensures that the team is focused on driving optimal value for Insignia’s purchased spend with a strong customer-service mindset and a bias toward continuous improvement.

Financial Analysis – Able to create cost savings scenario summaries and track purchase price performance to commodity markets to differentiate between cost movement due to commodity markets versus supply chain improvement. Understands financial concepts including invoicing, accounts payable and other financial business processes. Interprets financial data, analyzes cost structures, and determines financial impacts of decisions.

Education & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Economics; Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or another relevant discipline a plus.

Experience: 5+ years in Strategic Sourcing (RQ), Global Strategic Sourcing (PF); previous strategic sourcing experience using the 7-step strategic sourcing process (or similar); experience with direct materials, commodities a plus; experience with Sourcing and Procurement within Food & Beverage; Consulting experience a plus.

Certifications: CPSM or equivalent (PF)

Proficiency: MS Office, Excel, Word & PowerPoint (RQ), Access (PF), SAP (PF), Ariba (PF)
