Accounting Clerk OpportunityWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Covington, Louisiana. As part of a dynamic and collaborative environment, you will play a key role in supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting tasks. This short-term contract to permanent position offers opportunities for growth and development within our organization.Responsibilities:Process vendor invoices and manage disbursement filing to ensure accurate accounts payable records.Handle daily invoicing, credit applications, and cash receipt processing for accounts receivable operations.Assist in general accounting tasks, including general ledger reconciliations and month-end closing activities.Verify and correct transaction documents, initiating necessary adjustments to entries and related records.Classify expenditures and assign appropriate accounting codes for accurate financial documentation.Compile and prepare financial reports using data from various sources to support organizational needs.Record financial data in journals, ledgers, and registers using manual or electronic systems.Investigate and resolve discrepancies by analyzing potential sources of errors and preparing correction entries.Support budget monitoring by verifying adjustments and transfers to maintain accurate financial tracking.Participate in special projects and provide additional administrative or accounting assistance as needed.Requirements:Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.Proficiency in data entry with excellent attention to detail.Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is highly desirable.Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage various accounting tasks effectively.Basic knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.Entry-level candidates are welcome, provided they demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow.Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with team members and vendors.
