Basic Purpose

Assist Human Resources department in ensuring fair treatment and protect the rights of all employees per state and federal labor laws. Help the Company comply with state and federal regulations by following best practices. Assist in implementation of Collabera’s cultural values.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist HR Manager in all aspects of employee relations. Assist in tracking and implementing Family & Medical Leaves of Absences (FMLA), Family Leave Act (FLA), military, medical & other leave of absences. Help enforce compliance of multi-state and federal leave laws and regulations.
  • Evaluates and help resolves human relations and work-related problems, and coordinates with HR Manager to determine appropriate action.
  • Helps employees, managers and department heads to settle work-related conflicts through advice and recommendation. Explains and provides advice to employees and managers about company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and the need for compliance.
  • Recommends solutions to HR Manager when repetition of individual problems indicates negative trends.
  • Assist in reporting/tracking and managing workers compensation cases from point of incident through to case closure by workers compensation carrier.
  • Manage unemployment insurance claims that are contestable. Represent Company at UI hearings and appeals. Complete requests for additional information regarding reasons and events surrounding separation.
  • Assist with Investigations, EEO requests, ADA accommodations & other ER issues.
  • Conduct exit meetings upon employee separation. Send exit interview survey and compile periodic exit interview findings for review with HR Director.
  • Serve as HR witness for performance improvement plans (PIP). Coach managers on PIP processes.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of employee relations activities and company events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned such as impromptu HR Projects.

Essential Education, Skills and Environment

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, liberal arts (psychology, sociology, etc.), industrial relations or organizational development; may have some post-graduate education or training. SHRM CP is recommended but not required. Minimum 2-3 years of human resources or employee relations experience.


Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • General knowledge of personnel practices and procedures. Able to handle high level of confidentiality and common-sense regarding employee information. Good time management, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
