The IT Manager will oversee the maintenance and support of server and computer infrastructure, acting as the primary contact for tasks such as system backups, routing, switching, and firewall management, as well as storage area networks, system security, and software updates. They will also assess the effectiveness of software and hardware usage, as well as system performance. This role is a direct hire position based in Philadelphia, requiring on-site presence five days a week.


Responsibilities:

  • Load, configure, and troubleshoot Mac and Windows Operating Systems
  • Manage relationships with external vendors
  • Maintain Active and Open Directory Systems
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 End User and Desktop Support for 250 end users
  • Set up and configure Cisco Network infrastructure, including Routing and Switching
  • Implement IT security best practices and stay updated with industry standards
  • Work with OpenBSD/FreeNAS/ZFS based storage systems
  • Manage Office 365 and G Suite email systems
  • Configure various network devices such as firewalls, switches, WAPs, and VOIP phones
  • Monitor servers and devices proactively and provide reports
  • Ensure software and firmware on server/network hardware are up to date
  • Handle Data Backups and Disaster Recovery Systems
  • Manage user and software licensing
  • Create and maintain documentation and procedures
  • Assist other IT team members as required


Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Experience in managing a small IT team
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Understanding of data networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with networking devices and cabling
  • Experience in resolving server issues remotely
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in administering Microsoft, Apple, and G Suite environments


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science or relevant technical certifications preferred
