Senior Policy Advisor National Security & Defense PolicyA nationally respected, bipartisan Lobbying & Public Policy practice is seeking a Senior Policy Advisor to join its Washington, DC office, with a focus on national security and defense policy. This role is ideal for a policy professional who thrives at the intersection of legislative strategy, government relations, and regulatory advocacyand is ready to lead on the most pressing national security issues of our time.You'll join a cross-functional, mission-aligned team of former government, military, and private sector professionals who guide clients through the full lifecycle of legislative and executive branch engagement, especially in defense appropriations, policy development, and regulatory authorization.What You'll Do:Serve as a senior advisor on national security and defense-related policy issuesMonitor, analyze, and influence federal legislation, budgets, and authorizationsInterface with congressional and executive branch decision-makers and agencies of jurisdictionDraft strategic communications, position papers, and policy briefingsLead client relationships and help shape policy agendas aligned with national security prioritiesCollaborate across departments in a full-service firm environmentWhat We're Looking For:10+ years of experience in national security/defense policy, with expertise in federal legislative or executive branch processesExperience on Capitol Hill (especially on national security committees) or at an executive branch agency of jurisdictionBachelor's degree required; JD or Master's degree strongly preferredDemonstrated excellence in writing, communication, and policy analysisValues-driven mindset aligned with the firm's core commitments: future-focused, diversity-minded, collaborative, service-oriented, and dedicated to excellenceWhy This Role?Influence national policy at the highest levels of governmentWork within a top-tier lobbying group backed by the resources of a full-service law firmJoin a bipartisan, high-performing team respected across federal agencies and Capitol HillCompetitive salary and benefits, plus access to long-term career growth and mentorshipLocation: Washington, DC (in-office or hybrid flexibility may be discussed) Level: Senior Policy Advisor Type: Full-time
