Principal Data Consultant - Capital Markets

Contract – potential for hire

Hybrid – Cincinnati, OH


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Data Consultant with a strong background in capital markets, particularly in areas such as Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Interest Rate Derivatives, and Securities processing. This role requires a proven leader who can dive deep into complex data challenges, while also effectively managing and navigating through various personalities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee data consulting projects within capital markets, ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Utilize expertise in capital markets to provide strategic guidance and insight to clients, helping them navigate through data-related challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design data solutions, and implement best practices tailored to capital markets environments.
  • Take ownership of project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful project delivery within scope and on schedule.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in SQL, DataStage, DBT, Snowflake, and other relevant technologies, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies within capital markets, incorporating insights into data consulting strategies and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field
  • Experience working in capital markets, with a focus on Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Interest Rate Derivatives, or Securities processing.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading data consulting projects, from inception to completion, within capital markets environments.
  • Strong technical proficiency in SQL, DataStage, DBT, Snowflake, and other relevant data technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and personalities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex data issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
