This person will be very detailed and is committed to the success of the warehouse, the supply chain team, and the company. They will be responsible for transferring product with a forklift into/out of the warehouse and to other storage areas or departments. This person will have primary responsibility for the accurate and timely transport of materials to work sites or warehouses utilizing a box truck, stake bed truck, or a sprinter van. They must be able to communicate well with the warehouse team and other departments. The following responsibilities are essential, but not all-inclusive.Job Responsibilities:Operate overhead crane to move materials and load/unload trucksTag all pallets if they are on the dock for shipmentOrganize, Load/move truck shipments in a safe and efficient manner, including confined spacesOperate pallet jack or forklift in a safe, and efficient mannerMaintain work area in a clean organized, and safe mannerAccurately check all shipments against e-mails and/or packing slipsCheck schedule regularly for changes to shipping, order pulling, or order changesFollow all safety rules and operational procedures that are in place in the warehouseMaintain a very high standard of great customer service to all departmentsCrosstrain in all areas of the warehouseSupervisory / Budgetary / External Communication Responsibility:This is an individual contributor.Responsible for communicating internally and externally to employees and vendors.Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirement (Minimum Competencies Required for Job Performance):Must be able to manage and prioritize shipping, receiving, and dock responsibilitiesMust accurately check shipments going outMust have a sense of urgency throughout the dayMust be able to communicate effectively with the warehouse team and other departmentPrior Work Experience and Educational Requirements:Prior experience working in a warehouse environmentExperience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control requiredMust be able to drive a sit-down forklift.Must be able to work independentlyPhysical Demands:The physical demands are those of a typical delivery driver and safely lift up to 50 lbs.Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
