Classification Title Paralegal FLSA Non-Exempt FTE .50 Minimum Qualifications Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Preferred Qualifications Position Summary This position will assist with U.S. permanent resident sponsorships from academic departments and Colleges, help with training, workshops. and answering questions for the UGA community, facilitate the intake process for each case, and evaluate the correct filing category with assistance from the Director, collect all backup, required government forms, and file each petition in compliance with government regulations, manage the data entry in Sunapsis for all employment-based permanent sponsorships, monitor and update processes and policies as needed when government regulations or filing requirements change. This position will work 20 hours per week and report to Robin Catmur-Smith, Director of Immigration Services. Duties/Responsibilities Assist the Director with filing U.S. permanent resident (LPR) (green card) applications for eligible international employees. Intake, evaluate, and file different categories of LPR, including EB-1b and EB-2 cases, both Special Handling and Standard PERM Labor certifications. Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities Manage data entry in our case management, including initial case entry, and updates as the LPR case proceeds through required stages. Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities Assist with inquiries regarding LPR sponsorship opportunities, processes, costs and timeframes from academic departments and international employees.
