The Executive Director of Marketing & Communications serves as the chief architect of LAJH's marketing, communications, and public relations strategy. This leader is charged with shaping and executing a forward-thinking vision that elevates LAJH's brand, strengthens its reputation, and builds meaningful engagement with residents, families, donors, referral partners, media, and the broader community. Working closely with executive leadership, Fund Development, and program teams, this role ensures that every message, campaign, and public touchpoint consistently reflects the mission, values, and long-term strategic priorities of LAJH, positioning the organization as the premier provider of senior healthcare and services. Responsibilities:Strategic Vision and LeadershipMission-Driven Mindset: Deep understanding of aging services, senior healthcare, and the organization's mission, with the ability to align marketing and communications with the long-term strategic plan. Brand Stewardship: Evolve and protect LAJH's brand while honoring its history and values. Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage market research, consumer insights, and analytics to guide strategy, measure impact, and optimize results. Expertise in Multi-Channel MarketingIntegrated Campaign Management: Build and execute campaigns across digital, print, broadcast, social media, and community channels to engage multiple audiences including seniors, families, donors, and referral partners. Content Development: Oversee production of compelling, mission-aligned storytelling (videos, newsletters, website content) that humanizes LAJH's work. Digital Marketing Savvy: Lead initiatives in SEO/SEM, social media, email campaigns, and marketing automation platforms. Communications and Public RelationsCrisis Communications: Manage sensitive situations (public health issues, regulatory changes, resident concerns) with transparency, timeliness, and credibility. Media Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with press and community influencers to position LAJH as a trusted thought leader. Internal Communications: Strengthen employee engagement through clear, inspiring, and inclusive messaging for staff at all levels. Stakeholder EngagementCommunity Connector: Build trust with residents, families, donors, volunteers, and partner organizations. Philanthropy Support: Collaborate with development teams to create campaigns that inspire giving and strengthen donor relationships. Advocacy: Effectively communicate the value of senior care services to government, healthcare partners, and the broader public. Cultural Competence and InclusivityDiversity Awareness: Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity of residents and staff. Inclusive Messaging: Ensure that marketing materials reflect the community's diversity and promote equity. Multilingual Strategy: Support translation and culturally adapted messaging where appropriate. Operational and Financial AcumenBudget Management: Oversee marketing and communications budgets with a focus on ROI. Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing and communications team. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with clinical, operations, HR, and fundraising leaders to align initiatives and maximize impact. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing and communications, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or senior services. Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive measurable results. Strong expertise in digital marketing, analytics, and media relations. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Experience building, motivating, and leading teams. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Work ScheduleFull-time, generally Monday-Friday with flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends for events.
