Job Description
Director of Engineering to lead design and manufacturing engineers in an equipment or machinery assembly operation.
Provide strategic direction and vision to its Engineering Teams.
- Focus Engineering team on creating technical innovations in Electrical Mechanical and Automation Systems
- Create and implement achievable KPIs for quality performance delivery and cost for all products.
- Develop new leaders and motivate engineering team through technical direction and guidance.
- Optimize operating efficiencies between manufacturing sites.
- Advance business strategy through innovative product launches engaging MEs EEs and Automation Engineers
A vital element of business growth strategy is having a vibrant technically rich and challenged engineering team strategically aligned with product management and marketing functions that are strategic resultsfocused and market savvy.
- Lead and align a global group of Mechanical Electrical and Manufacturing Engineers. Improve organization structure engagement levels and talent pipeline to deliver business goals
- Plot a technology path that both interests and excites current and future technology talent.
- Understand the different customers and their motivations; define and articulate the relevant targets synthesize these factors and assist in rapidly
In collaboration with Marketing challenge the status quo and question what is possible regarding new technologies and product capabilities.
- Create a culture of actionorientation customer focus and innovation within the engineering team.
- Serve as a true business partner with Executive and Operations Leadership
- Drive continuous improvement and seek ways to do things better faster and more efficiently.
Qualifications
BS Engineering
10 years Technical Leadership experience
Innovative thinker with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
Experience in building mentoring and coaching a team of engineering professionals
Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
Ability to quickly make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
Energetic flexible collaborative and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives. Not afraid to have an opinion across business operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Engineering Managers and their teams
Direct reports in engineering outside of the US
Travel
20% travel domestic and international
