Job Opportunity At Thomas Memorial HospitalTransports patients from various hospital departments to and from the Diagnostic Services Department.Minimum Qualifications:High School graduate or equivalentCPR certification within 90 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Successful completion of a patient care aide- training program or equivalent.Core Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains accurate records of patient transport to and from D.S. Department.Utilizes RIS to properly check-in and check-out patients.Demonstrates basic knowledge of IVAC pumps, drainage devices, catheters, restraints and oxygen tanks.Demonstrates proficiency with regards to stretchers/carts, wheelchairs, O2 tanks, transfer devices and personal protective equipment.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate and provide a safe environment for infants, pediatric, Adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.Physical Requirements:Must be able to exert 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Visual acuity must be within normal ranges.Must be able to position, lift, move patients of all weights with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis.Frequent walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and feeling are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties throughout the work shift.Working Environment:Exposure to body fluids, human tissues, contagious diseases, sharps and explosive gases.Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.Exposure to high stress and constant interruptions.Exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants.Additional Job Description:Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Shift: Non-ExemptCompany: THOM Thomas HospitalsCost Center: 151 THOM Radiology DiagnosticAddress: 4605 Maccorkle Ave SW South Charleston West VirginiaEqual Opportunity Employer:West Virginia University Health System and its subsidiaries (collectively "WVUHS") is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
