Apex Systems is looking to hire a Data Center Technician in the Sterling, VA area for one of our reputable clients. This position is fully onsite with shift schedule determined by team needs.
Pay Rate: $18-22/hr.
Fully onsite M-F Night Shift 7pm-7am
6 mo. Rolling contract (extension based upon performance)
Job Details:
The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions.
- Performs assigned tasks and escalates issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations.
- Leverages process knowledge and best judgment to complete next task without direct supervision.
- Coordinates, prepares, and executes incoming/outgoing deliveries (e.g. purchase order [PO] receiving,
- Rack Movement Supervisor [RMS] activities.
- Ensures complete and detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.
- Performs inventory cycle audits, data corrections, and various Data Center regulatory compliance or certification control audit activity.
- Performs material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process.
- Ensures detailed physical inventory tracking and staging. Performs destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all documented procedures and runbooks
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required
- 2-5 years experience required
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time
