Now Hiring For Hvac JourneymanLocation: Des Moines, Iowa Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: Competitive hourly wage + benefits (Range between $28-$40/hour, based on experience) Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Journeyman HVAC Technician to join a reputable mechanical contracting team in Des Moines. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial and industrial HVAC systems, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to craftsmanship and collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration units Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate system layout and installation Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components Collaborate with other trades (plumbing, piping, sheet metal) on integrated mechanical projects Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, and team members Qualifications: Valid Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent certification Experience in commercial or Industrial HVAC installation and service Ability to read and interpret construction documents and mechanical plans Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and procedures Willingness to work on varied job sites including hospitals, schools, and government buildings Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally as needed Benefits: Union wages and benefits package Opportunities for advancement into foreman or leadership roles Supportive team environment with ongoing training and development Stable work with a long-standing mechanical contractor Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of West Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
