Who we’re looking for:

The Electronic Systems Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Electronics System Engineer


The primary responsibility of this role is to adapt the design of standard Electrical components, sensors, and ECU’s (Electronic Control Unit) for deployment on responsible vehicles.

Reporting to a Sr. Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the ES2 department's objective to deploy electrical components on responsible vehicles.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead collaboration with internal/external stakeholders to
  • Design packaging structures for system/parts
  • Prepare and release planning drawings.
  • Monitor quality related concerns and pro-actively participate in their resolution.
  • Plan and manage schedule for responsible parts/system.
  • Monitor project health and provide status reports to Management.
  • Some overtime may be required to ensure output is on-time for key milestones


Requirements:

What you bring

  • Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 yrs combined years of total engineering experience that must include both body design and electrical systems design experience
  • 2 yrs experience in resolving Field issues
  • 4 yrs demonstrated abilities in planning/scheduling, multi-tasking and engaging with multiple stakeholders
  • 4 yrs proficiency in CATIA V5 for 3D data and drawing preparation


Added bonus if you have:

  • Proficient in leading variable workforce and/or Design-In members
  • Experience in using simulation software such as Computer-Aided Engineering (structural/vibration) or CST studio suite (EMC/EMI) Electromagnetic capability and Electromagnetic interference
  • Experience with all stages of Vehicle development (Full Model change or Major-Minor model change)
  • 4 yrs experience negotiating with Styling group and cross functional departments
  • Some experience in design of electrical systems/parts including wire harness routing and spec issuance
  • 4 yrs experience in design of other ADAS systems such as Panoramic View Monitor, Sonar and Blind Spot Monitor or Headlamp ECU
  • Japanese language capability
