Counselor Job Description

Our Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) work alongside IBH's excellent psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners to provide clinical therapy in a traditional outpatient setting. Therapists are an integral part of our treatment team. This is an in-office position at our outpatient clinic in Guntersville, AL.

Counselor Responsibilities
  • Observe client behavior, assess needs, and create treatment strategies.
  • Diagnose psychological, behavioral, and emotional disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in consultation with physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical professionals.
  • Involving and consulting with clients' families during treatment.
Counselor Position Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted Social Work or LPC license in the state of Alabama.
  • Ability to work without direct in-person supervision and practice autonomously.
  • Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and electronic medical records.
  • Self-guided determination to complete notes within 24 hours.
Counselor Salary and Benefits

Salary starting at $70,000/year, quarterly bonus, malpractice insurance provided, health insurance premiums shared by IBH, short-term disability provided, long-term disability provided, life insurance provided, continuing medical education, including $500 for fees paid, license fees paid up to $500 annually, 160 hours of vacation, which includes holidays, 401K employer plan, in-house credentialing and billing.
