Warehouse Industrial Truck (PIT) OperatorThis position is responsible for operating various types of powered industrial equipment to move, locate, relocate, and stack cases. The PIT Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle at all times.PRIMARY DUTIESReceives, unloads and sorts products from trailers and distributes to appropriate locations within the Distribution CenterOperates various forms of powered industrial equipment in and around the Distribution CenterUnloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations. Efficiently stacks and stores the merchandise in the appropriate areasLoads outbound containers and clears lanes by load numberPulls and prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shippedBuilds pallets and efficiently moves product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers or containersInspects and operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following prescribed work methodsReplace and charge forklift battery as neededReports defective materialsMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition while following prescribed safety regulationsCross-trains in other areas of the building and frequently lends support to other departmentsPerforms other duties as required/assigned by Supervisor/ManagerPerforms duties consistent with the Company's AAP/EEO goals and policiesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDOne year of Distribution Center experience preferredMust be capable of standing and walking for extended periodsMust be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and bend on a frequent basisMust be able to use proper techniques to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movementsMust be able to utilize RF scannerFlexible schedule required; able to shift priorities easily to accommodate deadlines, business needs, and requirementsAbility to pay attention to details, follow directions, and contribute as a team player and effectively communicateMust be able to obtain PIT certifications during initial training phaseWORKING CONDITIONSDue to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions.
