Together, we do great things.The Senior Manager, Accounting position provides leadership and direction to site GL accounting team with primary responsibilities around managing the monthly close process while maintaining a strong controls environment and driving process improvements within the organization. This includes preparing and reviewing journal entries for all accruals, allocations and reclasses, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. This role is also responsible for the preparation and distribution of the facilities and/or cost center financial statements and will have an integral part of the annual external audit. This role will provide ad-hoc information and analysis as needed.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for maintaining a high-performing team including mentoring and training staff members and identifying cross-training opportunitiesWork with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staffLead team in execution and coordination of monthly close processes and internal reporting, including review of work papers, analysis and other documentation supporting the monthly close process and month-end balances across all accounts.Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracyResponsible for timely, accurate monthly accounting close including journal entries, reconciliations, and explanations of actuals vs. plan flux analysisMaintain detailed account reconciliations and gain intimate knowledge of critical account balancesReview journal entries and other accounting transactions, maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, and ensure that financial statements are GAAP compliantResponsible for insuring the integrity of our data from our ERP and reporting systems, including the implementation of new systemsProvide support on annual financial audits including providing backup documentation and explanations as neededResponsible for supporting management initiatives including process standardization and simplification, financial analysis and research, and reportingEnsures defined internal controls are followed on a consistent basis for Sarbanes Oxley complianceAssist in financial budgeting and forecastingCollaborate with other departments to obtain information required for financial analysis and variance resolutionsResponsible for reviewing and maintaining individual legal company and profit center reportingAssist on special projects, including significant transactionsPerforms and oversees advanced, technical interpretation of accounting rules and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Basic QualificationsBA/BS in Accounting or Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in AccountingSeven or more years of experience in the accounting/financial reporting areasThree or more years of Management experiencePreferred QualificationsCPA, MBA, or graduate finance related degreeWorkday Financials experience or other large ERP systemsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent communicator with executive level managersA strategic thinker with an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial processesProfessional agilityIntermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with automated accounting systemsMust have the ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organizationDemonstrate willingness to partner across internal departments with competing prioritiesTotal RewardsThis role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending and HSA accounts; paid holidays; paid time off; paid volunteer days; employee assistance program; tuition assistance; parental leave; military leave assistance; QTS scholarship for dependents; wellness program, and other company benefits.
