Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative Traveler Alternate/Related Job Titles: Travel Phlebotomist - Patient Services Mobile Phlebotomist (Traveler) Clinical Phlebotomist - Traveler Phlebotomy Technician (Travel Assignment) Location: Grand Rapids, MI Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 9 weeks Start: As Soon As Possible Job Summary The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative Traveler (PSR) serves as the frontline representative for patients receiving diagnostic services. This travel role requires flexibility to support multiple locations as business needs dictate while delivering high-quality specimen collection, maintaining patient trust, and ensuring strict adherence to safety, accuracy, and confidentiality standards. Key Responsibilities Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established practices and procedures. Explain procedures clearly and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence during patient interactions. Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing accurately and professionally. Verify patient demographic information, initials, and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling. Maintain accurate records and required documentation. Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and patient data accuracy. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor. Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment. Support staffing needs by working in doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other assigned locations as required. Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. Required Experience Minimum 2-3 years of phlebotomy experience. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable. Flexibility to work multiple locations and cover patient service center or in-office phlebotomy sites with minimal notice. Ability to make decisions using established procedures and exercise sound judgment. Commitment to all company policies, including dress code, employee health and safety, and everyday excellence guiding principles. Availability to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as required. Nice-to-Have Experience Prior experience in a travel or float phlebotomy role. Experience supporting multiple clinical or diagnostic sites. Must be available to work all scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and remain for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination. Training locations may vary based on trainer availability. This is a hospital site requiring additional credentialing. COVID-19 vaccination is not required. Position is not eligible for remote work.
