SUMMARY:

The Senior Refractory Materials Engineer is responsible for helping to shape and execute the Amaero Advanced Materials & Manufacturing, Inc. (The “Company”) vision regarding our refractory powder metal offerings. This includes overseeing technicians and external suppliers in our internal and external supply chain and helping set and manage the quality of our offerings through material testing, powder and product metallurgy, and specification development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Interfaces with internal and external customers and suppliers to guide development and production of refractory metal products
  • Reviews customer requirements and provides input to commercial team
  • Participate in quote decision meetings providing feedback to engineering and commercial team regarding requirements and schedule
  • Supports the development of supplier network and establishes quality expectations with input from quality department
  • Develops supplier quotation documents with input from quality department and interfaces with potential suppliers for estimating production costs
  • Assists with the development of customer quotation and proposal documents
  • Reviews quotations from suppliers and customer proposals
  • Collaboratively establishes and verifies conformance of production control documentation with quality department
  • Provides direction to purchasing department in the issuance of purchase orders to meet customer requirements and production schedules
  • Coordinates with Quality Department to ensure compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements
  • Ensures manufacturing and production operations comply with safety requirements
  • Executes the Company’s strategic and business planning goals
  • Adheres to departmental and project budgets
  • Training and mentoring department staff
  • SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of modern refractory manufacturing technologies and metallurgy of these alloys
  • Sound scientific, laboratory and technical knowledge
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A broad understanding of refractory materials and their capabilities
  • Understanding of metallic refractory manufacturing processes and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Engineering, advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing or manufacturing refractories
  • Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check
