Commodity ManagerJob Category: PurchasingRequisition Number: COMMO002752Location: Holland, MI 49423, USADescriptionResponsibilities:Manage all aspects of the assigned commodities via strategic supplier managementIdentify and develop the current supply base and potential suppliers for each commodity through supplier strategies aligned within the business unitDrive current and new launch cost reduction opportunities via strategic sourcing, negotiation, and projectsMonthly forecast and tracking of spend and savingsIdentify and mitigate risks associated with responsible scope of buy ensure supply is protectedLead supplier negotiations, including contract management and development agreementsObtaining Motus Sourcing Board approval for all new sourcing actionsUtilize supplier scorecards to communicate performance versus expectations monthlyForecast materials market movements and develop mitigation plans to smooth volatilityEnsure that price changes aligned to contracts, and raw material index are accurate and timelyAnalyze and intelligently execute tradeoffs between unit prices and working capital/inventorySupport current production and new launch activities (Quotes, Purchase Orders, Reports, etc)Establish "target pricing" (pre-program award)Manage key internal stakeholders to achieve alignment on continuous improvement opportunitiesPrepare and present executive communications on an as-needed basisRequirements:Bachelors degree in supply chain management, finance, or engineering3-7 years experience related to Purchasing, Materials Management, or other Supply Chain areaAutomotive industry backgroundOutstanding communication, detail-oriented, self-driven, professional written skills, and negotiation skills are essential for success in this positionUnderstanding of PLEX ERP software a plusProficient in MS OfficeAbility to travel up to 30% is requiredLocal to Michigan or South Carolina preferred; hybrid or remote work negotiableEqual Opportunity Employer
