Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability, and yield.Job Tasks / FunctionsHVAC / RefrigerationEvaluate and performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systemsInstalls new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelinesMaintains and secures a spare parts inventory including basic maintenance hand and power toolsPerforms operation, repair and adjustment of refrigeration system; monitors system performance and determines when system is not operating correctlyPerforms routine maintenance on various types of warehouse equipment in accordance with OSHA StandardsStarts system, observes operation, reads gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms, such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in systemDismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipmentReplaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systemOther duties as assignedElectricianInstalls, connects, tests, and sustains electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications.Figures layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools.Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, using tools, such as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender.Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.Other duties as assignedWastewater:Skilled repair and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment plant equipment and machinery.Installs, repairs and maintains or rebuilds equipment and machinery relative to the physical plant and its processes including but not limited to air compressors, pumps, motors, variable frequency drivesOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Skilled repair and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment plant equipment and machinery.Three (3) months of maintenance experienceKnowledgeable of and can perform all set-ups and tear downs of all equipment in areaHave and demonstrate troubleshooting skillMust possess organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or other related fieldTechnical certification in Industrial Maintenance or other related fieldTwo (2) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentBilingual fluency in English and Spanish reading, writing & speakingPhysical Requirements:Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles.
