Role Description

As a Science teacher, you will be responsible for instructing students in specific courses such as Chemistry and Physics. Teaching responsibilities: Upper School classes. 


The ideal candidate will have experience leading and developing cross curricular, inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on developing 21st century skills. Most qualified candidates will be accustomed to personalizing the academic experience and be able to show evidence of student growth. This position requires extensive collaboration and leadership with all stakeholders.


  • Develop, plan, and integrate inquiry-based learning school wide
  • Focus on the development of 21st-century skills, technology as a tool to amplify learning, and personalized attention with a focus on whole-child development per our school mission 
  • Daily use of FACTS and Google Apps for maintaining records with regard to grading, attendance, discipline, email, and other important organizational functions
  • Confident in one’s ability to create and engage with students through live instruction and remote learning modalities 
  • Oversee various academic spaces to highlight mission-specific learning outcomes and experiences
  • Oversee and develop inquiry-based curriculum and collaborate with leadership regarding its growth
  • Confident in navigating online learning platforms
  • Collaboration with the administration regarding meaningful teacher and student use of educational tools and resources to support learning outcomes


Qualifications

  • Experience in Science Education, with a focus on Physics and Chemistry
  • Qualified Teacher status or relevant teaching certification
  • Ability to plan and execute effective lesson plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for inspiring and motivating students
  • Experience and knowledge in other science subjects is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or related field
