Distribution Center Team Member / Equipment OperatorAt Academy Sports + Outdoors, our purpose is to make it easier for everyone to enjoy more sports and outdoors. The Distribution Center Team Member / Equipment Operator is responsible for a variety of distribution center duties to ensure the accurate and safe shipment of goods to and from the customer. Through this important work, the Distribution Center Team Member / Equipment Operator provides support to the distribution center in order to achieve customer service, associate engagement, profitability goals, and Academy's Purpose.Education:High school diploma or equivalent diploma requiredCurrent forklift certification a plusWork Experiences:Previous related work experience preferred.Previous material handling equipment experience (MHE) preferredRadio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience preferredFamiliarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles preferredSkills:Must have a "Safety First" mentalityInventory management, equipment maintenance, data entry, and basic computer skills requiredEffective communication, organizational, time management and mathematical skillsAble to multi-task and work independentlyAbility to anticipate and make decisions under pressureMust be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risksResponsibilities:Please see job description for more details.Physical Requirements & Attendance:Academy is committed to the health and safety of all team members. Firearms Positions: Requires the handling of ammunition and/or firearms. Extra precaution, safe handling, storage of and transport procedures must be followed to ensure safety and compliance with company policies, local and state laws. All Firearm positions will require successful completion of firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.Powered Industrial Truck Positions: Requires the operation of a Powered Industrial Truck that will be used to carry, push, pull, lift, stack, or tier materials. Extra precaution, safe truck operation and procedures must be followed to ensure safety and compliance with company policies.
