Responsibilities:
- Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Assist the pharmacist with the preparation, repackaging, compounding, filling, and delivery of medications, ensuring appropriateness for all patient ages (0-adult).
- Controlled Substances Management: Support the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of all controlled substances.
- Accurate Data Entry: Enter patient information such as diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area into the computer to ensure correct medication dosing.
- Aseptic Technique and Infection Control: Follow the aseptic technique and infection control procedures for sterile product preparation. Promote aseptic practices among colleagues.
- Stock Management: Work with Pharmacy Support Services personnel to maintain an adequate stock of medications and supplies, following procedures for stock replacement and nonformulary processes.
- Labeling and Verification: Obtain initial and final checks from the pharmacist and assign dilution and expiration dating labels to medications according to department standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Licensure/Certification Requirement: Active National or State Board Pharmacy Technician
- Experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.
Additional Information:
- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Job Type: contract to hire.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday – 09:00 am to 06:00 pm
- Pay Range: $ 20.00 to 23.00/hour.
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
