Location: San Francisco,California Expected Start Date: Dec 1, 2025 Senior IT Business Analyst - Customer Care and BillingHybrid (Oakland, CA)Direct Hire - Target Start Date: 12/1/2025Compensation Range: $110,000-$150,000About the Role We're seeking a seasoned Senior IT Business Analyst with deep expertise in Customer Care and Billing to join our team. This role serves as a strategic partner to both technical and business stakeholders-translating organizational needs into thoughtful, effective technology solutions. You will analyze business processes, define detailed requirements, and help shape system enhancements that support key operational goals. In this position, you'll independently lead requirements efforts for medium- to high-complexity projects, guide junior analysts, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. You'll also play an integral role in evaluating solution options, shaping project scope, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead the analysis, documentation, and design of business and system solutions with minimal oversight. Drive requirements activities for complex initiatives and provide mentorship to less-experienced analysts. Conduct peer reviews of requirement and design documents to ensure quality and consistency. Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams; influence decisions and facilitate consensus. Contribute to business cases and project justification efforts. Assess end-to-end business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation. Anticipate and address stakeholder questions with clear, timely communication. Explain IT processes in a way that is easily understood by business partners. Ensure adherence to SOX and other compliance standards. Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements and specifications for moderate to complex projects. Apply strong domain expertise to provide insights and recommendations. Evaluate solution alternatives and propose the most effective options to address business challenges. Support operational and maintenance activities as needed, including application testing. Participate in project estimation efforts. Review test plans and validate test outcomes to ensure solutions meet business needs. Consult with stakeholders to define priorities and understand evolving business environments. Review design and technical specifications to ensure alignment with functional requirements. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience analyzing, designing, and developing functional requirements, including UX/UI concepts. 3+ years of hands-on business analysis experience. Experience working on high-complexity projects. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with relational databases; SQL experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with UML methodologies. Ability to work independently within a structured team environment. Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-functional groups. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 3+ years of experience with Oracle Customer Care and Billing and data modeling. Background supporting call center or back-office operational teams. Understanding of database and schema architecture.
