Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Partner to join their expanding team in Charlotte. They are dedicated to providing personalised, comprehensive estate planning services that brings peace of mind to their clients by helping them protect their assets, plan for their future, and preserve their legacy.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Trusts and Estates practice group in the Charlotte office, providing strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services.
- Develop and implement personalised wealth-transfer plans to minimise gift and estate tax burdens, safeguard assets, and address the unique needs of each client.
- Provide expert counsel on estate planning, including the preparation of key documents such as Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Medical Directives.
- Advise clients on complex scenarios including family business succession, international estate planning, elder care, and special needs planning.
- Collaborate with attorneys from other practice areas such as Business and International Law to offer comprehensive and innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the North Carolina State Bar, with a strong preference for candidates with additional admissions in neighbouring states.
- Extensive experience in trusts and estates law, with a proven track record of successful client representation.
- Demonstrated expertise in estate planning, asset protection, elder care, charitable giving, and special needs planning.
- Ability to manage complex and multifaceted estate planning scenarios with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
