Investigator PositionThe Iowa Insurance Division is seeking a highly motivated Investigator to join our Market Regulation Bureau. This crucial position is dedicated to consumer protection by investigating and enforcing Iowa insurance statutes and regulations against unlawful, incompetent, or dishonest market conduct. If you have experience in insurance investigations and are committed to regulatory compliance, this is your opportunity to play a key role in maintaining integrity across Iowa's insurance markets.Key Responsibilities As a Market Regulation Investigator, you will be primarily responsible for regulatory investigations of licensed individuals and business entities. Your duties will include:Leading Regulatory Inquiries: Initiate and lead thorough investigations into potential violations of state insurance laws and regulations.Targeted Enforcement: Focus your investigations on regulated parties, including Producers/Agents, Adjusters, Appraisers, Umpires, and other licensed entities.Consumer Complaint Resolution: Review, analyze, and investigate consumer complaints involving regulated individuals and companies.Statutory Compliance: Analyze insurance company and producer conduct for adherence to critical statutes, including the Insurance Trade Practices Act (Iowa Code Chapter 507B) and the Insurance Producer Law (Iowa Code Chapter 522B).Team Collaboration: Work closely with a dedicated team of investigators and analysts to support the successful investigation and prosecution of consumer protection statutes.What We're Looking For (Qualifications) To excel in this role, you should possess the following: Required Experience: Proven, progressive experience in insurance investigations, regulatory compliance, financial crimes investigation, or a related enforcement field. Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance principles, practices, and state regulatory requirements. Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business conduct, interpret legal statutes, conduct effective interviews, and prepare detailed, well-supported investigative reports. Motivation: A high degree of self-motivation, ethical conduct, and commitment to public service and consumer protection. Desired (Nice-to-Have) Experience working for a state or federal regulatory agency. Relevant professional certification(s) (e.g., Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI), Fraud Claim Law Associate (FCLA), Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA) or Certified Fraud Examiner - CFE).Why Join the Iowa Insurance Division?
