Responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Performing various aspects of automation controls design including PLC programs, and graphics for HMI, electrical schematics, P&ID’s, etc.
  • Designing and programming industrial control systems (ICS) including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote I/O systems, remote terminal units (RTUs), and human-machine interface (HMI) components.

Requirements of the Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Bachelors Degree; Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • CAP – Certified Automation Professional
  • CCST – Certified Control Systems Technician
  • CIMM – Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanics
  • NICET certificate for Industrial Instrumentation
  • Passing FE exam or otherwise qualified as an EIT
  • Membership in ISA (International Society of Automation)
  • AutoCAD Plant 3D
