Position Overview

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will develop the next generation of technology In a dynamic environment while guiding the development of multiple projects.You will direct and guide the activities of one or more engineering functions. You will ensure that best practices are followed, and that teams have access to the latest technologies, allowing the teams to deliver quality products in an efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience as a software developer
  • 10+ total years of experience building and releasing enterprise software
  • 5+ years of managing software engineers
  • Ability to perform code reviews
  • Detailed understanding of distributed systems architecture
  • Understanding of AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience managing remote developers
  • Experience with languages such as C# and JavaScript

Responsibilities

  • Leading design during all phases of development and deployment
  • Focus on improving product performance and reliability
  • Coordinating across internal teams to solve end to end problems as an organization
  • Delighting our customers with high quality software releases
  • Ensuring that problems are prevented or solved, not merely managed
  • Ensuring that communication with stakeholders reliable/accurate/timely
  • Migrating functionality to the cloud, and away from on-prem systems, whenever possible
  • Aggressively building out monitoring and alerting to ensure product quality is always strong
  • Over time, finding the best role for everyone on the team, based on their abilities, interests, and business needs
  • Finding areas where developers can grow their skill set, such that they become both more capable in their careers long term and immediately more productive/efficient as engineers

About Your Location

Princeton, NJ

In a hybrid role, you will work with your manager to establish a mutually agreeable schedule for your time working in the office based on the position and the business need. Typically hybrid positions are 1-3 days per week, or 20%-60% of the month in the office.
