Within a leading financial institution's Corporate and Investment Banking arm, you will join the department focuses on all asset classes, including equity, equity derivatives, forex, credit, commodities products, and services.


The Information Technology department within the Investment bank provides global solutions with in-house developments supporting its operational processes and securing its business growth. It is a worldwide entity spread across Americas, Asia, and Europe, composed of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Assurance, and Application Support representatives.


The team is responsible for developing and maintaining exchange connectivity and high-performance front-office systems. All developments leverage a common framework developed across Americas, Asia, and Europe. A Python Developer within the team must be familiar with market structure across various asset classes, including knowledge of market regulation (FINRA, SEC, CFTC, SRO rules, etc.), and market functional analysis.


The Python Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Electronic Market Making (EMM) trading platforms, ensuring core functionality, data accuracy, performance, and STP. Successful candidates must have excellent Python development experience in the context of testing trading platforms in the Fixed Income markets. The role requires a strong ability to work independently and coordinate development efforts with various groups, including QA, Support, and Business.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write test scenarios and test scripts based upon Product specification documents and business user interactions as well as create test scenarios based on an understanding of systems in order to Integration testing, regression test, new functionality, and stress/performance conditions.
  • Build a test repository and document all test cases.
  • Create automated test cases where possible.
  • Document test progress and incident tracking.
  • Perform functional, integration, and performance testing of trading applications.
  • Execute test cases and execution suites.
  • Track issues found throughout the QA lifecycle.
  • Setup test environment and configuration files to perform integration testing.


COMPETENCIES:

  • Expertise as a Python Developer in a Global Investment Bank.
  • Knowledge of Market Structure across various asset classes (equities, derivatives, commodities, forex, and fixed income).
  • Skills in interfacing with business clients (front office, middle office) to comprehend and document business requirements and their priority as well as develop technical or user process solutions.
  • Skills in interfacing with teams of developers, solid familiarity with major SDLC approaches (accent on Agile methods family).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects.


TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Client/Server Electronic Trading applications.
  • Knowledge of various QA testing tools and automation.
  • Knowledge of FIX & Binary Connectivity.
  • Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows.
  • Knowledge of trading and brokerage operations – front to back.
  • Strong Python experience.
  • Strong communication skills are a must.
