Basic Purpose: Operations Supervisor is responsible for maintaining shift production within the Manufacturing Department and/or the Packaging Department, ensuring that safety, quality, cost, and productivity standards are met.

Hours are Monday-Friday from 1:40pm-10:10pm

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the performance of hourly manufacturing/packaging personnel by monitoring and directing daily activities, performance, and training.
  • Oversee the pharmaceutical manufacturing/packaging process, including adhering to specified schedules, procedures, and processes.
  • Supervise the manufacturing/packaging operation and verify that procedures and documentation are properly followed and submitted according to current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), coordinating efforts with QA as required. Verify and sign that all records are correct and complete.
  • Ensure that all required information and materials are correct and available at the start of the shift and communicate with and prepare for the subsequent shift.
  • Enforce cGMPs, safety, housekeeping, and security procedures.
  • Coordinate efforts with maintenance department to ensure equipment is running at optimum levels.
  • Ensure that SOPs, training, and cGMPs are current and followed by manufacturing/packaging personnel, maintaining appropriate records.
  • Write investigations when deviations occur.
  • Implement and follow through on timely execution of Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Communicate any problems or concerns to the Operations Senior Manager or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Prepare and issue routine and special reports.
  • Other tasks as may be assigned.

Education/Training/Work Experience:
  • Education Required: A high school diploma plus appropriate previous experience accepted.
  • Education Preferred: An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience Required: 3 + years of related experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience Preferred: Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Functional Knowledge: A self-starter with excellent technical, administrative and people management skills to direct staff, follow procedures and communicate well with employees throughout the Company.

  • Must have positive attitude and ability to promote positive training environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Possess sound analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.

Work Environment and Physical Demands (List required PPE's):
  • Be able to repeatedly lift 25-50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear respirator and/or PAPR and steel toed shoes when required.
