Make a meaningful impact with a team that values ambition and rewards initiative.The Master Plumber - Utility Permitting & Compliance Specialist manages all permitting processes for utility construction projects, including waterline, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and fire line systems. Serving as the Responsible Master Plumber (RME), this role represents the company during fire marshal inspections and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. While the primary focus is permitting and compliance, the position also provides secondary oversight of quality control for utility work to support safe, high-quality, and productive operations.The Master Plumber Utility Permitting & Compliance Specialist will be competent in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, high quality, and productive manner. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.Plans WorkCoordinates and Executes WorkOversees and Directs StaffPromotes Client and Industry RelationsEnsures a Safe Work EnvironmentParticipates in Training/CertificationsRequired:Active Texas Master Plumber LicenseStrong knowledge of utility permitting processes, particularly in Houston and surrounding areasTwo years of experience with sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline, and fire line systemsFamiliarity with fire marshal inspection requirementsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work full-time and on-sitePreferred:Previous experience serving as an RME for a utility or construction companyBackground in municipal or private infrastructure projectsExperience with quality control processes in utility constructionAt Baker Construction, we welcome those who are driven to make things happen.
