Ping Pong InstructorThe AMA YMCA is looking for a passionate and energetic Ping Pong Instructor to join our Recreational Youth Program Designed for ages 6 to 14, our classes introduce young athletes to the fast-paced, skillful world of table tennis in a fun and supportive environment.We're seeking an instructor who brings enthusiasm, patience, and a strong understanding of ping pong technique. Ideal candidates will be able to teach the fundamentals of the game-grip, stance, serving, footwork, and rallying-while fostering good sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-confidence in every child.Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to strengthen our community, beginning with you.Essential Functions:Plan and lead recreational ping pong classes that focus on foundational skill development and match play.Teach safe, engaging, and age-appropriate ping pong techniques to participants of all skill levels.Demonstrate proper form for serving, rallying, ball control, footwork, and paddle grip.Provide clear instructions, guided drills, and fun games to reinforce key concepts.Promote positive interactions, teamwork, and respectful competition among players.Maintain a fun, structured, and encouraging class environment.Communicate regularly with parents and participants regarding progress, behavior, and class updates.Uphold the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all interactions.Maintain equipment and training spaces to ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment.Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the youth sports Program.Qualifications:Minimum age of 18.Previous experience coaching or playing ping pong/table tennis is preferred.Experience working with children in a teaching or coaching capacity.Strong communication and leadership skills.Ability to create fun and effective lesson plans tailored to different skill levels.Must be dependable, patient, and energetic.Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.Work Environment & Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
