In this role, you'll focus on maintaining, constructing, and repairing stormwater conveyance systems and road right-of-way systems. Become part of our teamapply todayResponsibilities include:Perform stormwater conveyance system maintenance on all county canals, lakes, ponds, and ditchesRestore road right-of-ways and properties relating to stormwater maintenance and repairsInstall and repair pipeline infrastructure and plumbing to ensure proper grade of the conveyance systemRespond to emergency situations as requiredLead staff in operations to ensure safetyCarpenter work to include design, frame or form needed to install and build new infrastructureDesign, form, and pour concrete for structures, high back curb, Miami curb, etc.Understanding and experience practicing standard FDOT stormwater installation specificationsOperate specialized equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, arm mowers, vacuum trucks and other related equipmentWork Hours:Monday - Friday6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.40-hour work week, rotating scheduleOn-call requiredMinimum Qualifications:A High School Diploma or its equivalentThree (3) years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of stormwater conveyance systemsA valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement required within six (6) months from the time of hireA valid Florida Driver License at the time of hirePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of current technology in storm water distribution systems and road right of way maintenance practicesKnowledge of safe operation of specialized tools and equipment used in the maintenance storm water conveyance system and road right of way maintenance and repairOperation of harvesters, airboats, motorboats, excavators, arm mowers, personal computers and mechanical tools used in the utility maintenance industryPhysical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSubject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.
