As an HBC Clerk, this position will be responsible for rotating, facing, and replenishing merchandise. You will review department status for cleanliness, product quality, and quantity. Additionally, you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.Core competencies include partnerships, growth mindset, results orientation, customer focus, and professionalism. Reporting relations include accountability and reporting to the District Store Director, Store Manager, and various Assistant Managers. There are no positions that report to you.Primary duties and responsibilities include: providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service; smiling and greeting customers in a friendly manner; making an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible; assisting customers by escorting them to products they're looking for, securing products that are out of reach; answering the telephone promptly and providing friendly, helpful service to customers who call; working with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment; rotating, facing, and replenishing merchandise and ensuring the highest quality standards are met; reviewing department status for cleanliness, product quality, and quantity; checking in product and putting product away; assisting with inventory as requested; maintaining displays in the department and throughout the store; ordering product when asked by supervisor; maintaining strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress; adhering to company policies and individual store guidelines; and reporting to work when scheduled and on time.Secondary duties and responsibilities include: building displays as needed; assisting in other areas of the store as needed; and performing other job-related duties and special projects as required.Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include the ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions; the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers; the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; and the ability to write identifying information request supplies orally or in writing. Education and experience requirements include less than high school and over six months up to one year of similar or related experience. Supervisory responsibilities are none.Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently; and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of 20 inches or less, depth perception, and color vision. The position requires the ability to perform the following physical activities: climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Working conditions include exposure to dust and noise in a fast-paced work environment with significant pressure. Equipment used to perform the job includes a ladder, C.A.R.S. ordering system, computer, register system, box cutter, scissors, hammer, screwdriver, and produce cart.
