HealthCare Recruiters International is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join a well-established private physician group located on the campus of the Putnam Hospital Center. With over 25 years in business, our busy internal medicine practice serves patients aged 14 and up. This position offers a unique opportunity for career growth, including potential practice ownership, as one of our physicians plans to retire soon.
Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner:
Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical exams, sick visits, and telemedicine.
- Perform on-site diagnostic testing, including echocardiography, vascular testing, cognitive tests, and CLIA-certified lab work.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions independently.
- Prescribe medications (DEA license required for scheduled medications).
- Manage an average of 20 patients per day.
Collaboration:
- Work with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions to optimize patient outcomes.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and practice standards in documentation and patient care.
Requirements:
- Master's or Doctorate in Nursing.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in New York.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in internal medicine.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of internal medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems (E Clinical Works).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual abilities.
