At Barnard, we build the riskiest, most difficult, complex jobs we can find and we hire people who thrive on tough work and demanding opportunities.QualificationsMust possess competence in the following areas in order to perform this role in a safe, productive and effective manner:Interprets drawings, sketches, plans and determines best work procedures, tools, equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problemsMeasures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and ductbanks; make terminationsInstalls control and distribution apparatus' and fastens in placeTest and start up systems and continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of componentsObserves functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacementMay be required to pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to fixtures and power equipmentWork with medium and low voltage systemsDisassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systemsOperate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical toolsResponsibilitiesMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screenMust be able to pass pre-employment criminal background screenMust possess current State of Texas Journeyman Electrician LicenseAbility to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 poundsAbility to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawlAbility to correctly rig and hoist materialAbility to tolerate heights without fearAbility to maintain balanceAbility to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet)Able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per weekAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.Ability to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled, E-Verify Employer
