Business AnalystAt Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.Jacobs has an exciting opportunity to support our Operations Management & Facilities Services (OMFS) business as a Business Analyst for a municipal water district project located in El Segundo, CA and have a direct hand in challenging today and reinventing tomorrow As the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Business Analyst, you'll be working with operational delivery managers and our clients to support recycled water treatment facilities.Your role as a Business Analyst (Project Controls professional) will be to focus on cost and risk management, financial analysis, and accounting support. This will include managing project financials (including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, revenue/GM recognition, and performance variance analysis), as well as some administrative and accounting duties related to expense coding, invoice preparation, and accrual management. Your success in this role will also be greatly attributed to your partnership with a variety of internal stakeholders including project management, regional and corporate leadership, the OMFS commercial team, sales, contracts, purchasing, and accounting. Other focuses will include identifying and mitigating risks that could negatively impact project success, profitability, and safety.We are looking for someone that can take initiative, bring enthusiasm, and provide effective communication skills across all levels of the organization. There is opportunity to be considered for a hybrid schedule after a successful training period.Here's what you'll need:B.A. or B.S. degree from a four-year accredited college or university with course work in engineering, business, finance, and/or accountingProficient in Microsoft Suite (advanced in Excel and Outlook)Travel up to 10%Valid driver's license with no major infractionsA Successful Business Analyst Will Also Have:Progressive experience related to accounting and finance experience in industry or consulting services preferredExperience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning and reporting preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with very fine attention to detailExemplary organization and time management techniquesAdvanced course work or certification in business, finance, and/or accounting with applicable work experienceWorking Conditions:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
