Our Project Managers play an important role in the growth of our Project Management Services and are responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control and close-out of major electric transmission, distribution and substation projects. The successful candidate must have exceptional leadership skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex and oftentimes multi-functional challenges associated with large projects.This role will be responsible for leading the management and execution of substation design projects, ensuring project requirements are met in terms of quality, schedule, and budget. Additionally, it will oversee engineering efforts, coordinate project scopes, and ensure compliance with established standards. The role will also provide mentorship to junior engineers, perform QA/QC tasks, and support construction activities to ensure successful project implementation.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic project management leadership for large and complex electric substation projectsResponsible for leading projects through all internal and external processes, and navigate the project life cycleResponsible for the overall management of the project scope, schedule, and costAccountable for key project decision-makingManages a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule, and costLead overall project coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation, and negotiationResponsible for leading project meetingsAccountable to develop, update and manage the project plan associated with the project life cycleCoordinate communication and provides status updates to stakeholders as requiredAssess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plansProactively manages project requests for information and action itemsEnsure availability or seeks out adequate resources to support the projectEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of workQualificationsBachelor's Degree required5+ years of project management experience of design projects in an engineering field, preferably in substationsExperience working on substation design and construction with power utilitiesDemonstrate the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting prioritiesMust be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as requiredProven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)Proficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations to support project scope, schedule and cost objectivesDemonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skillsConsistently produces results that meet goals, has high work standards, and understands the business environment and processesAchieves results by problem-solving, setting priorities and organizationStrives for individual excellence by seeking challenges and self-development, demonstrating high levels of expertise and showing commitment, self-confidence, and integrityPreferred qualifications:PMP Certification is desiredMaster's in Business Administration (MBA)Eligibility to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the state of FloridaFamiliarity with structural, civil, geotechnical, electrical, protection & control and telecom aspects of substation engineeringExperience with distribution, and transmission projectsBenefits & CompensationQualus benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays, for those who qualify.The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.Company OverviewQualus is a leading pure-play power solutions firm and innovator at the forefront of power infrastructure transformation, with differentiated capabilities across grid modernization, resiliency, security, and sustainability.
