POSITION TITLE: Supervisor, Special Events & Promotions

SUPERVISES: Special Events & Promotions Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

As the Supervisor of Special Events & Promotions, you will support the Special Events & Promotions Manager in the strategic planning and execution of high-impact events and promotions for Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort and Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel. Your role will focus on driving revenue growth, crafting memorable guest experiences, and enhancing the brand image through innovative and engaging events that elevate the properties' visibility and appeal within the properties.

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with all aspects of special events and promotions, including coordination of work schedules, assignments, and workflow. Support the planning and management of the annual programming calendar and departmental budget
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with VIPs and guests and ensure adherence to departmental, company, and brand performance standards
  • Ensure daily operations are conducted with integrity and in compliance with regulatory, internal control, and departmental policies. Resolve incidents and issues proactively
  • Exhibit sound decision-making, motivate the team, and manage performance appraisals. Participate in personnel actions such as hiring, training, and coaching, and provide recognition for superior performance
  • Contribute to projects, committees, and other duties as required. Provide constructive input, address large groups effectively, and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures in an ethical manner
  • Establish and endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and Values

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license required with no more than one (1) DUI conviction or 3 or more moving violations, 3 or more traffic citation convictions in the past 3 years (from date of conviction), or conviction for suspension or conviction for at-fault accident within the last 3 years required
  • One year of experience coordinating special events and or promotions required
  • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
  • Proficient with Windows-based office software (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent oral and written communication, public speaking, and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter with excellent organization and time management skills, able to handle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent hygiene, and strong customer service, Team Member relations, and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of Harrah's employment policies*

*Not required at time of hire; may be learned in the probationary period agreed upon at the time of hire

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours, perform various movements (stooping, bending, reaching, etc.), respond to visual and aural cues, lift 50, carry 25, and manually push/pull 100 pounds, as well as work in a small, shared office space
  • Capability to handle fast-paced environments, make rational decisions under pressure, operate in mentally and physically stressful situations, and tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality, including secondhand smoke
  • Proficiency in English language, manual dexterity for operating office equipment, and willingness to work in diverse environmental conditions and flexible schedules, including weekends, overnights as needed, evenings, and holidays
