Laminator

JOB PURPOSE:

This machine laminates litho labels to corrugated board. Perform activities associated with running machine equipment including setup, operation, quality control, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Set-up equipment accurately and in accordance with proper and safe setup techniques.
2. Inspect all tooling before and after running to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before next run.
3. Minimize material sheet, label, and adhesive waste.
4. Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
5. Complete daily and weekly equipment clean-ups.
6. Perform continuous quality control: select material at random to check size, material, print and glue.
7. Abide by all company policies and procedures, including practicing safe work habits.
8. Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication.
9. Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Prior laminating or experience working with adhesives a plus.
3. Strong ability to read a ruler and understand fractions.
4. Corrugated industry experience preferred.
5. Previous mechanical or manufacturing experience preferred.

WORK ENVIROMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 70 lbs.
2. Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings, and weekends as business demands.
